Our client has over 90 years’ experience within civil engineering and have developed a strong, global reputation for delivering large-scale projects within the rail, highways and energy sectors. They are dedicated to maintaining and building on their client relationships which has enabled them to win significant new works, allowing them to continue to deliver complex, multi-disciplinary, engineering-led projects.

With them making headway on a major highways scheme in the Birmingham area, they are looking for Site Engineers and Section Engineers for this 2-year project!

THE ROLE

As there are various level of engineer roles available, your responsibilities will differ from how heavily involved in setting out or paperwork you may be – but that’s the same everywhere you go! This role is a fantastic chance to make your career with this business as they make a start on a 2-year £100m+ major highways scheme, with prospects to move on to HS2 upon completion.

The initial project includes an unprecedented amount of earthworks, drainage, structures (both build and refurbishment), road widening, central reservation, junction improvements – and that’s just scratching the surface! IDEAL CANDIDATE

Now I’ve got you hooked in with the project and company, I bet you’re wondering whether you’re the engineer I’m looking for? You will need to have experience within highways build schemes, ideally on major projects but that’s not essential. What is important here is your technical skillset as these are very challenging projects, so you must be willing to go above and beyond to become the best possible engineer.

As much as skillset is important, culture fit is also key as ultimately, they have a reputation to maintain and growth targets to hit, so you need to be seeking a career with a company. So if you’re just looking for a bit of experience to then jump around in the industry, this isn’t the role for you.

REQUIREMENTS

You’re the Site Engineer or Section Engineer I’m looking for if you hold a minimum HNC in Civil Engineering and also experience of highways build projects. Ideally, you will hold additional tickets such as TWC, however this isn’t compulsory.

PACKAGE

For the Site Engineer position, if you’re the top-notch candidate, my client is offering £30k - £38k depending on level and experience.

You will also receive a company car or car allowance, 25 days holiday + bank holiday, excellent pension scheme, and lodging if required.
