Site Engineer
Based in Central London
12 month contract
£300 - 350 per day
Principal Accountabilities:
Accountable for the following in relation to compound and bridge works:
- Managing the construction and testing of all compounds and bridge
- Managing interfaces on site and coordination across contracts with other Construction Managers.
- Keeping the team informed of site progress & performance.
- Reviewing of the programme and the review of payment applications as required.
- Reviewing and issuing daily and weekly reports.
- Maintaining contract performance against project milestones, KPIs, programme, budget and other established metrics.
- Managing the works through Construction, Testing, Commissioning, and Handover.
- Provide input into constructability.
- Assisting the PFE in ensuring Contractor compliance with their Quality Plan.
- Leads the reviews and acceptance of the relevant contractor submittals.
- Assisting the PFE in the management of NCRs and Snag List items.
- Review and acceptance of the Contractor Commitments Compliance Plan in conjunction with the sustainability and consents team.
- Complying with the CRL management arrangements for CDM, within the area of responsibility.
Main Challenges of the Job:

- To ensure contractor compliance with safe methods of railway working, throughout project execution.
- To ensure the contractor complies with their own quality systems.
- To work with the Project Manager's team to build effective working relationships at the appropriate level within the contractor's team.
Person Specification:
- Relevant Engineering qualification, Civil, mechanical, or equivalent experience.
- Good technical knowledge and experience in resolving design issues.
- Knowledge and experience of construction quality systems and H&S processes in a relevant context.
- Knowledge of project controls processes and site experience
- Knowledge of the contractor/ subcontractor's responsibilities contained in subcontract documents.
- Strategic thinker, effective communications skills and ability to work well in a team.
