Site Services Engineer

A Site Services Engineer is required to work on a 2 year contract for a large rail company based out of their state of the art rail facility in Widnes. You will be required to work 38 hours per week and will be required to attend call outs as and when required. The roster for being on call is 1 out of every 6 weeks.

The rate of pay for the role is negotiable dependent upon previous experience.

Duties:

Work in accordance with Site Services Managers instructions, requirements and guidance.

Operate to Safe Working Practices and Instructions

Comply with H&S work instructions including H&S.A.W. and C.O.S.H.H.

Adhere to corporate H&S and Quality Systems.

Work to professional high standards to ensure servicing, repair of equipment and company assets are delivered in a timely manner.

Identify in conjunction with Site Services Manager improvements and cost savings.

Maintain clear and well documented records.

Be proactive, self motivated and empowered to achieve desired results.

Adopt a flexible and supportive attitude.

Be willing to learn and develop additional job related skills.

Use various software and IT packages related to the position held.

Adopt and train to handle various items of machinery Plant & Equipment, (i.e. Fork Lifts, Off road vehicles etc)

Respond to Call-Outs and breakdowns if required to do so.

Perform cover duties to support other sites (exceptional or holiday cover)

Assist Site Services Manager to maintain Assets/Contractor/Supplier Registers

Qualifications Required:

• Time served apprenticeship or equivalent with supporting technical qualifications
• (ONC/HNC/City & Guilds) or recognised equivalent
• 17th Edition Wiring Regulation

Experience Required:

• Knowledge and practical experience of Plant and Equipment.
• Preferably DUAL Skilled (Electrical/Mechanical) or SINGLE Skilled (Electrical/Mechanical)
• Experience of Hydraulic/Pneumatic systems
• Excellent diagnostic and Fault finding skills.
• Plumbing/Carpentry/Bricklaying and general construction skills together with one of the above skills could also be advantageous.
