THE COMPANY
You could get the opportunity of a lifetime to work for this Global Engineering and Technology business. Their UK operation is currently developing, and you can be apart of the Organisation from the very beginning. There will be start-up operations across the UK & NI including vast manufacturing facility here in the UK.
The company have secured a number of high-profile orders with full life-cycle maintenance contracts to manufacture and maintain brand new trains and as a result, will look to increase their headcount to meet the demands of these contracts.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE
You will be an analytical procurement professional, with a background as a Buyer or Purchasing Manager within the metal / fabricator sectors. With a passion for ensuring the best product is available to build the state-of-the-art Trains. This role will also require you to attend meetings on a sporadic basis through out the UK, to liaise with suppliers and internal project managers. You’ll also have the ability of setting project procurement plans in line with the agreed category strategy, planning and executing sourcing projects accordingly. You’ll also be experienced in identifying, approving and arranging potential suitable suppliers for the commodity portfolio.
ABOUT THE JOB
This role will require you to be responsible for working with current suppliers to ensure their products are available this client within agreed time-scales and within agreed budgets and working with them on cost reduction strategies. You will also be setting sourcing strategy for new contract opportunities and running sourcing events, based on agreed sourcing strategy. You will be evaluating supplier proposals and providing recommendations to the business for supplier appointment. You will also project lead the contract handover reviews with manufacturing, service and maintenance teams and well as supporting business stakeholders in all exceptional cases of supplier non-performance.
THE REQUIREMENTS

Educated to degree level or relevant experience, ideally CIPS qualified.
- Commodity management experience, and experience in a manufacturing or service & maintenance environment
- Good working knowledge of SAP including PO, Material Master, PIR, Contract management and able to negotiate directly with suppliers for all contract provisions
- Strong understanding of Contract law and contract drafting for different types of Product / Services.
- Candidates need to have flexibility in regards to international travel as this will be required occasionally dependent on projects.
THE SALARY
Up to £43,000 per annum + Excellent Pension + 25 Days Holiday + BH
