Communications Manager
Location: London
Rate: £350 (Umbrella) £300 (Limited) per day - In scope of IR35
Term: 3 months initially – with the potential to go permanent

Our client is looking for a Communications Manager, or someone who is looking for their next step up into this position to join the Safety Critical Communications Team in Central London. The Safety Critical Communication Team produce all of the Safety Critical Communications which is published on Southern Shield - the website used to showcase all of the safety content which is developed by the team.
What you will need:
Essential:
- Significant Experience within corporate communications
- Proven track record in public relations activity in a high-profile organisation
- Excellent writing skills and ability to think strategically
- Excellent influencing skills and ability to build relationships with internal stakeholders
- Thorough knowledge of the media and how it operates
- Railway safety understanding is desirable but is not essential for this role
The Role:
- Working closely with the supported business areas to develop, drive and implement the HR strategy / people plan to include: Talent, Succession planning and change management, in order to support the delivery of business objectives and drive a high-performance culture
- Act as integral member of the business leadership team, building strong relationships with senior business leaders and other relevant stakeholders
- Coach, advise and channelling thinking in addition to co-development, design and execution of integrated medium to long term people initiatives to meet current and future business needs
- Act as a change agent; lead, support and contribute to change programmes, driving and championing the implementation of HR solutions within the supported business area gaining acceptance from stakeholders
- Proactively manage trade union relationships, working with the Employee Relations Team, appropriate HR business partners and managers across the business
- Influence the centres of expertise and development of strategy and policy through sharing business/functional requirements and inputting into development and execution planning
- Liaise with HR Business Partners in other areas of the business in order to work collaboratively on cross business / geographical issues
