Position: Engineering Manager (CEM)
Location: Sydney, Melbourne or Auckland
Salary: AUS $240,000 - $260,000 (equivalent £140,000 - £152,000)

We are looking to attract a Contractors Engineering Manager (CEM) to join an Australian Contractor on a permanent basis.

With the Australian government recognising the importance of rail infrastructure, they are embarking on a 20-year investment strategy across Passenger, Freight, Urban and Metro systems. $20bn has been made available in the <phone number removed> budget and this is just the beginning.

Our client is looking to build on its already well establish and well-regarded Rail business, through diversifying its offering and continuing its growth in terms of scale and maturity. Currently in transition, they are evolving into a 'top table' contractor and are operating as a strategic Alliance or Joint Venture partner.

To support this growth and to deliver projects of greater scale and complexity, they are seeking to strengthen their team by appointing an Engineering Manager (CEM)

Requirements:
-A demonstrable technical expertise in rail systems and / or signalling
-Degree qualified (relevant to construction/engineering) or HNC/HND
-Minimum of 8 years' experience in an engineering, design management (contractor side) role
-Proven engineering background managing complex projects and implementing processes to improve design quality, buildability and assurance
-Experience of safety assurance processes and BIM/DOORS and DE applications
-Experience in managing design teams/engineers
-Experience in claims management/negotiation, commercial contract management exposure
-Dynamic, enthusiastic, calm under pressure. Methodical approach to work duties
-Clear and comfortable knowledge of best practise with unwavering and uncompromising attitude towards quality and standards
