We currently have an excellent opportunity for an experienced Environmental Coordinator to join our growing engineering team in Birmingham working on high profile rail projects across the UK.
With a focus on the design of High Speed rail infrastructure the will also support other Product Lines in the UK and overseas, the post-holder will be part of a growing team of UK engineers delivering projects for a diverse portfolio of UK clients.
Main Duties of the role:
- Manage and coordinate multidisciplinary environmental inputs for a major development project
- Manage and coordinate preparation of EIA screening and scoping activities, Environmental Statements including the technical review of specialist chapters
- Liaise with clients, internal and external supply teams
- Work in partnership with other members of the Environmental Team, delegating activities to staff as applicable
- Work with design teams to ensure that environmental considerations are being considered.
- Coordinating resources and reporting across multiple locations.
- Input into design/optioneering, assessment, consenting and approvals during construction and delivery of projects.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Degree in a relevant environmental subject
- Experience of ECI Contract experience on infrastructure projects would be an advantage.
- Experience of working for private and public-sector developers and operators, on a range of development / infrastructure project consents.
- Experience of stakeholder management, with demonstrable experience of liaising with UK planning authorities and statutory consultees.
- An appreciation of a range of technical environmental matters.
- Experience in developing scope of work for environmental studies.
- A collaborative nature, demonstrating strong relationships with partner companies in the supply chain.
- knowledge and experience of the UK planning system and consents processes.
- Experience of assembling Environmental Statements and reviewing specialist inputs.
- Practical experience of working on all stages of Environmental Impact Assessment.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, a willingness to travel, with experience of remote project team management experience.
- The role will involve contact with external clients, the public and many internal colleagues, so good communication and presentation skills are essential.
