Estimating Manager (Digital Railway)

Salary - £75,000-£83,000 + Bens

Estimating Manager required for an exciting opportunity to join the new Digital Railway projects in London.

Duties

Manage estimating resources so that they are available to produce estimates in a timely and efficient manner.

Act as the Subject Matter Expert for estimating.

Support corporate alignment on estimating best practice, processes and systems.

Control and manage the estimating process in line with the relevant procedures.

Provide guidance and advice on method of measurement, cost breakdown structures, reporting and the analysis of quantities.

Monitor and review all estimates so that they are produced in accordance with company procedures.

Manage the buying in of external estimating support and where necessary monitor delivery to required quality standards.

Review and approve the submission of Cost Analysis Frameworks, providing regular audit of submissions to monitor quality and meet KPI targets.

Own, develop and manage the effective deployment of a unit cost modelling tool across the Commercial discipline and lead improvement initiatives.

Provide, plan and monitor estimating KPIs to measure collection of cost data, performance of estimating team and compliance with estimating process.

Develop and deploy robust estimating workload management plan using project management planning tools.

Essential

• Qualified to professional standard in Estimating or Quantity Surveying with membership of an appropriate professional body and/or educated to degree level
• Relevant successful experience of provision of estimating and/or QS services in railway or construction environment
• Knowledge of project management and investment programme processes and systems

Desirable

• Knowledge of and experience in the rail industry
• Knowledge and experience of estimating processes
• Knowledge of statistical process control methodology

A salary of between £75-83K is on offer + benefits.
