Hartfordshire, commutable from Hemel Hempstead, Milton Keynes, Oxford, Luton and North London

£65,000 - £80,000 per annum, plus car & package dependant on experience

An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Estimating Manager to participate in the overall leadership and management of the estimating, tendering and bid processes within the business and to manage the Estimating team at all stages of estimates an make sure that each bid is correctly submitted in a timely and compliant manner. Working on UK bids within Rail, and Major Engineering Projects for a fast paced principal contractor in the South of England.
To be suitable for the position you must have;
- Experience of Bid / Tender Management within a relevant sector; Railway / Civil Engineering
- A strong background in the Rail / Engineering sector would be most beneficial
- Knowledge of engineering project delivery in Rail / related industries
- Experience of proposals / bidding in highly regulated environments
- The ability to manage, coach & develop talented teams to deliver high performance
- Experience working for a main contractor
- Ability to analyse drawings, specifications, proposals & other documentations to prepare time, product, cost & labour estimates using specialised methodologies
Although not essential it would also be advantageous if you;
- Are degree qualified in a relevant subject
Role Information;
- Ensure all bids are produced using company approved software
- Demonstrate understanding and knowledge of the tendering process specific to particular schemes
- Negotiating the optimum tender price from suppliers, wholesalers and subcontractors
- Participate in handover of successful bids to construction delivery team.
- Review and plan the resource levels required to meet company tendering requirements
- Conduct ethical and equitable business practice in line with company values
