Job title: Fleet Manager - Rolling Stock
Job location: South London or South Coast (flexible regional reporting)
Salary: Circa £60-65k + Bonus Circa 8% + Company Perks
Key Responsibilities
You will join a leading rolling stock consultancy ion their South regional offices to manage fleet projects across a variety of different operators and leasing companies.
The department focuses on fleet project and predominantly delivers into train operating companies. Experience therefore within any of the below are beneficial - Franchise Bids, Fleet Introduction, Major Fleet Overhaul, Fleet Optimization, Maintenance Optimization, Responding to Fleet Safety Incidents, Depot Optimization, Resource Optimization, Business Efficacy and Overall Fleet Strategy.
We require an experienced and respected manager who has established a strong reputation in the industry and can lead a department within technical engineering, project management and commercially. This role you will hold a significant responsibility for key client relationships and deliverables - you must therefore hold excellent stakeholder management skills and be commercially minded. Ideally we would be looking for you to proactively grow business within current clients and where possible foster and support new business opportunities as highlighted by the Commercial Director.
This role will have a strong client facing element and you must therefore feel comfortable working within the depot environment and conducting regular site visits. You must be able to effectively manage stakeholders and direct staff within your own team appropriately to achieve project goals within immediate projects and to progress the company's growth strategies.
We require a strong manager who can clearly demonstrate their ability to proactively manage teams, budgets and project plans successfully and are keen to make a mark in new company.
Person Profile
*Must have previous rolling stock experience. Ideally 5+ years.
*Must have experience within leading projects and people.
*Experience within any of the following aspects: RAMs, Fleet/Depot Operations, Safety Cases & Implementations or leading teams in maintenance or technical support.
*Degree Qualified within a relevant Engineering Field.
*Any experience within LEAN, Six Sigma, Kaizen, Prince 2 is considered beneficial.
*Ideally Chartered
The ideal candidate will have previous experience either from within Rail Consultancy or at group level within bids teams within a train operator. We are similarly interested to speak with candidates from a ROSCO background that have sufficient exposure across multiple operator accounts.
