We currently have an immediate opportunity for an HSQE Manager (Service Delivery) to support one of our clients on the Metrolink Tram System in Manchester.

Responsibilities
- Supporting the Service Delivery Director and their management and frontline teams with the implementation of Health and Safety Management Systems.
- Undertake data collection and record safety information and present findings in meetings.
- Support the Service Delivery Director and their management teams to drive change through regular attendance at Service Delivery meetings.
- Undertaking detailed analysis to identify current and emerging trends/risks in order to develop credible recommendations and proposals for the continued improvement of both operational and occupational safety.
- Undertake audits and other assurance activities, ensuring regulatory compliance as a minimum.
- Drive a measurable and continual improvement in safety performance in the Service Delivery function – notably a reduction in the number and severity of accidents, incidents and levels of safety risk.
- Increase awareness and understanding of HSQE responsibilities within the Service Delivery function, through effective engagement and monitoring, leading to visible ownership and delivery of day to day HSQE management requirements.
- Instigate, support and lead, where required, investigations for incidents within Service Delivery.
- Benchmark against comparable organisations to ensure that best practice is identified, adapted and adopted.
Requirements
- Must posses a sound knowledge of tram/rail safety risks and regulatory requirements.
- Must posses a good knowledge of tramway or railway operations and control
- Must have a recognised safety qualification (e.g. CMIOSH) and be maintaining CPD.
- People Management – ability to partner with a wide variety of operational functions within the Service Delivery Department, motivating managers and staff to appreciate the importance of working safely
- Innovation – be able to suggest, champion and implement innovative solutions to safety across the Service Delivery function.
- Communication – Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to partner with a wide variety of operational functions within Service Delivery.
- Must be a high-level user of Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word and Excel.
