McGinley Support Services is one of the UK's largest specialist privately owned recruitment businesses providing the Infrastructure sector of the construction industry with temporary staff at all levels. Recruiting for four decades, we now help customers in Airports , Energy , Metro , Ports , Rail , Roads , Telecoms, Waste & Water and can supply staff, labour and support services to civil engineering contractors, subcontractors, utilities, infrastructure owners and operators nationally.
We are experiencing an increased flow of tendering and new contract awards as a result of the general increase in UK wide infrastructure spending and project commitments.
We are currently looking for an experienced Labour Manager to initially work with our bid team and follow on to manage the recruitment of a temporary workforce on a new contract working in the Southern region of the UK. You will have a proven track record managing and recruiting contingent labour into large projects/contracts and may currently be involved in a major project as a labour manager, on-site co-ordinator or an account manager. You may also be a recruitment branch manager or team leader in control of large numbers of workers.
The post holder is responsible for contract managing and coordinating the labour supply for a large contract and is fully responsible for the efficient, profitable and safe operation of the contract.
A common feature of today's major projects is the ability to work collaboratively with our clients and other peer group companies.
Key responsibilities within this position include:
*Overall management of the workforce via onsite supervision;
*Co-ordinating the activities of 1 to 3 subordinate staff
*Liaising with internal payroll and compliance departments regarding work programming, scheduling and planning. Including full responsibility for achieving and exceeding required targets as dictated by the contract;
*Recruitment, managing and resource allocation for labour as required;
*In conjunction with our client and our safety team identify and co-ordinate Health, Safety and Environmental requirements to provide a safe place of work at all times and to ensure application of safe working practices.
*To assist with risk assessments ensuring that all documentation and method statements are up to date;
*To ensure quality control is documented and adhered to including site visits and audits;
*To maintain a high standard and quality of work;
*Create and develop business opportunities with our client.
*Maintain contact, build and maintain a good working relationship with Key Decision Makers by way of pro-active telephone contact and 'face to face' meetings;
*Other duties as assigned.
Essential requirements for this position include:
*Ability to effectively manage and allocate labour resources;
*Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines;
*Proven analytical and problem solving skills;
*Able to work in a fast-paced environment;
*MS Office packages and preferably RDB Pro database experience;
*A willingness to help other members of your team on a flexible basis
