Project Information
Working on various projects within procurement to assist and bolster the current team
To be suitable for the position you must have;
-Over 5 years experience within procurement
-Currently/ recently finished working as procurement manager
-Significant experience in internal stakeholder management.
-Good working knowledge of contract law.
-Good negotiating skills.
-Experience in negotiating complex service contracts.
-The successful candidate should be result-oriented, enthusiastic and motivated to take on extra
-Responsibilities according to the department need
-Great interpersonal skills, able to establish and manage effective working relationship
Although not essential it would also be advantageous if you have;
-Ideally MCIPS qualified or working towards it.
-Knowledge of Rail sector an advantage but not essential.
-Desirable 3
Role Information;
-Manage the tendering process
-Develop, agree with stakeholders and implement Procurement Strategies across defined categories of spend.
-Identify cost saving opportunities within defined categories.
-Contract manage supply arrangements.
-Coach and advise contract managers within the business and act as an escalation point for issues.
-Within defined categories, identify Procurement synergies across the business .
-Ensure robust contracts are in place to cover key areas of business risk.
-Manage the supplier accreditation process.
-Review and approve purchase orders over £10K.
-Support the other members of the department in major projects as required.
-Contribute to the development of best practice within the business
-Ensure contracts personally negotiated are registered and regularly updated within the contracts database.
-Regularly attend and lead stakeholder departmental meetings to build relationships and gain knowledge of their forward requirements.
-Project manage and execute internal improvement activities as assigned by HoP
