An exciting opportunity has arisen for a talented individual to join the Commercial Team as Prosecutions Manager.
This position reports to the Head of Revenue Protection.
Leading a small team, the post holder will take full responsibility for the preparation and presentation of prosecution cases at Magistrates Courts.
Our client recognises that a conviction in the court is a serious matter which could have ramifications in both the personal, and working life of alleged offenders.
It will be the post holder's responsibility to ensure that all the evidence and mitigating factors are investigated and considered before any such action is taken.
They will ensure a decision to prosecute is fair, independent, objective and in the Public interest with a conviction a realistic outcome.
They will build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders including British Transport Police, the company's security provider, Home Department Police Forces, DVLA,Legal Professionals and Magistrates Officials as necessary.
Working closely with our client's Revenue Protection and Security Management Teams, they will be proactive in the development of strategies to maximise debt recovery, mitigate the risk of revenue loss through incidents of ticketless travel and tackle anti-social behaviour across the network.
Applicants should have an understanding of relevant legislation such as GDPR, Freedom of Information, Ticket and Fare Conditions, Conditions of Carriage and be able to demonstrate a proficiency in the Railways Regulations Act and the Company By-laws.
Previous experience in Magistrate Court Advocacy and Case File Preparation & Disclosure knowledge and a strong understanding of the UK Rail industry, along with an understanding of industry ticketing and revenue protection activities, would be an advantage.
