Rail Comms Bid Manager in Leicestershire, United Kingdom
We are working closely with a client of ours who are recruiting for an experienced Bid Manager to join their Bids & Tendering team, supporting the Station Communications business. This role is based in Leicestershire but there may be some flexibility for the right candidate and is offered on a contract basis with the likelihood of it rolling over.
The client is looking for a proven Bid Manager who has a high level of commercial acumen, a solid understanding of the Tendering process and ideally with technical knowledge of Rail Telecoms. This is a key role where you will lead other Engineers and Project Managers to deliver the Bid Solution and negotiate through to contract execution. The projects are vast in scope and can include Global bids with a value from £1m to £40m. Experience within the Rail industry is a benefit.
They are looking for someone with good communication, self motivated, driven, able to work to tight deadlines, comfortable in a team environment and able to lead a team that doesn’t directly report to them.
Responsibilities will include but not limited to:
- Responsibility for the planning, management and control of all bid activities and for ensuring the creation and maintenance of the Bid File
- Deliver all aspects of the tender process, including information, presentation, accuracy and submittal of formal bid and prequalification responses to maximise success
- Responsible for developing good customer relationships
- Adhere to bid management related milestones and quality gates
- Responsible for obtaining and using information that would enhance the businesses competitive position
- Preparation of all Commercial/Technical/Financial/Risk and other information in preparation of Tender Vet
- Identifying and advising the management team of any commercial, financial or technical risk for bids or bid opportunities
- Client presentations, trials and testing at either pre or post qualification stages
- Submission of bid to Customer within specified timescale
- Continuous improvement of the job and activities in line with the business Values
The successful candidate will have the following experience:
- Proven experience of Bid Management preferably within the Rail Industry
- Ideally previous experience within a commercial and a technical environment
- Good presentation, time management and organisational skills
- The role holder will have the ability to influence and excellent management skills
- Rail Telecoms understanding and knowledge.
- Either full Project Management including commercial experience or strong Bid Management experience
- Proven delivery and negotiation of bid solutions upwards of £100,000?
