Risk Manager in London, London, United Kingdom
Globally renowned construction company operating primarily in the transportation space are currently looking for an ambitious Risk Manager to join there highly motivated team of permanent staff. Working on a large scale joint venture infrastructure project. The Risk Manager will be required to facilitate the sign-off of risk appetite/tolerance levels by the Project Director in order to contain threats and/or optimise opportunity and ensure the project not exposed to avoidable threats which would prevent achievement of their objectives.
The Risk Manager will perform the following duties/tasks etc
* Managing the Risk Management System in accordance with the jv Risk Management Plan.
* Maintaining the Risk Management Plan and ensuring all stakeholders adhere to its requirements.
* Maintenance and revision of Risk Register each period.
* Undertaking Quantitative and Qualitative Risk Analyses in accordance with the Works Information. Quantitatively Assessing CEs (Time and Cost).
* Guiding a Risk Assistant to support the risk function's obligations as set out in the Works Information.
* Supporting internal and external audits on the risk function and its compliance with other function's Management Plans e.g. Environmental Plan, Quality Plan, Health & Safety Plan.
* Producing periodic reports detailing jv risk management performance each period.
* Continually seeking ways to exploit opportunities and mitigate risks to ensure key stakeholders meet/better their objectives in relation to the project.
Candidates will have the following experience;
* 10 years Risk Management experience gained whilst working on major construction projects.
* Numerate - being able to explain the concepts of project risk management and statistical concepts.
* Competent Facilitator - able to run workshops and meetings with people from all levels within the project to achieve the desired workshop outcomes.
* Effective Communicator - must be able to clearly and concisely convey risk information, written and orally, to people at all levels within the project.
* Must be competent in the use of the bespoke risk management tools e.g. ARM, @Risk, OPRA etc.
Candidates will have the following qualifications;
* Engineering or Business Degree - ideally Civils, Mechanical or Electrical or MSc project Management, MBA etc.
* Member of the Association for Project Management (APM).
* Risk Practitioner Level 2 (APM).
* Member of the Institute of Risk Management (IRM).
* Certificate / Diploma in Risk Management (IRM).
