Site Manager
Position: Site Manager Rail
Location: London based Sites
Salary: £35,000 - £40,000 + car + fuel card + pension + 21 days holiday
A fantastic opportunity for a budding Site Manager to join a very busy and continuously expanding, multi-disciplined construction company, within their Rail division. You will ideally be Degree (or equivalent) qualified or have relevant on site experience and be currently working in a Site Engineer or Site Manager position. The ideal candidate will also be competent at setting out.
Duties include:
- To assist the Project Manager i the management of the site on a day to day basis.
- Responsible for managing Health, Safety and Environmental matters.
- Responsible for ensuring a sage working environment for all site staff
- Preparation and management of safety documentation WPP/TBRA etc...
- Ability to brief safety information to all site staff
- Maintain all site records pertaining to Health, Safety and Environmental information
- Control and issuing of appropriate permits to work
- Control and monitoring of competencies on site
- Maintain site diary, issue work records, record extra works inc. site measurements
- Prepare progress reports
- Liaison with Project Quantity Surveyor on commercial matters
- Manage labour, plant and materials on site in conjunction with the Foreman.
- Prepare timesheets, plant records etc...
- Must be able to read drawings effectively
- Have a working knowledge of construction techniques
- Have a working knowledge of NWR standards and procedures
- Manage sub-contractors effectively with emphasis on Health & Safety and Quality.
- Awareness of contract programme requirements
- Liaison with client, designer, construction consultants etc...
- Must be computer literate and able to use email, Word, Excel etc

To do this role you must have:
- Ideally 2 years construction experience (Rail or Civils)
- Rail industry experience would be advantageous
- HNC / HND / Degree in relevant subject
- CSCS OR SMSTS
- PTS
- Fully competent at setting out using EDM would also be advantageous
- Excellent communication skills and ability to deal with people at all levels
