Key Responsibilities
You will join a leading rolling stock company to help deliver projects to improve the maintenance, maintainability and reliability of operational fleet.
The role focuses on continual improvement and optimization and we need a driven problem solver who relishes a challenge and can positively manage a team to deliver measurable and significant improvements to fleet operations. We are keen to speak with candidates who have successful experience implementing engineering changes to improve, reliability, maintainability, availability, performance, safety or costs. You will need to be a strong technical engineer and ideally have previous experience in managing a department or team ideally within fleet maintenance or technical support for fleets in service.
This role will have a strong client facing element and you must therefore feel comfortable working within the depot environment and communicating internally and externally to help push projects along and secure any necessary assistance or approvals. You must be able to effectively manage stakeholders and direct staff within your own team appropriately to achieve project goals. Experience with budget management, engineering approvals, engineering change assurance, bids or new fleet introduction will be beneficial.
This role would be ideal for individuals who have experience in optimization or improvements projects (multi-disciplinary), fleet introductions or major overhauls, RAMs or other business optimization work within the operational rolling stock environment. We require a strong manager who can clearly demonstrate their ability to proactively manage teams, budgets and project plans successfully.
Person Profile
*Must have previous rolling stock experience. Ideally 3+ years.
*Must have experience within leading projects and people within the depot environment.
*Experience within any of the following aspects: RAMs, Fleet/Depot Operations, Safety Cases & Implementations or leading teams in maintenance or technical support.
*Qualified within a relevant Engineering Field.
*Any experience within LEAN, Six Sigma, Kaizen, Prince 2 is considered beneficial.
*Ideally Chartered or happy to undertake.

The ideal candidate will have strong technical engineering experience including producing reports and documentation and analysing technical fleet problems.
