Mane are currently recruiting for a Technical Manager for work in Bristol.
Job Parameters/Authority Levels:
Works within established systems and procedures and is able to utilise systems and extract data as necessary to provide and publish useful performance data.
Overall Purpose of Job:
To carry out day-to-day management of the Technical Services Department, in the maintenance and repair of the UK rail wagon fleet in accordance with the requirements of ECM (the Entity in Charge of Maintenance) and applicable safety regulations.
Also providing support to the General Manager with trend analysis of defective wagons.
Specific Job Duties and Responsibilities:
1.Management of all Technical Services Operations including the maintenance and repairs of all rail wagons.
2.To ensure the Technical Services department remains compliant within regulatory and contractual standards of maintenance.
3.The management of departmental controlled documents including purchase orders, working time directive and payroll.
4.The management of maintenance requirements and work planning, resulting from traffic inspections, in-traffic repairs and works arising via ECM.
5.The management of Wagon and Project development.
6.The management of third party suppliers and workshops.
7.Health and Safety including staff welfare.
8.The liaison/co-ordination with all internal and external industry authorities, bodies and partners.
9.The management of staff competencies, equipment calibration and methods of work.
10.Daily contact and meetings with the Senior Supervisor, Fitters and Department Technique
11.Record keeping, traceability and trend analysis of detected rail wagon defects.
12.To carry out safety critical assessments.
13.Annual reporting of Technical Services UK for ECM.
14.Preparation of required documents for Audit purposes.
15.To undertake any other reasonable duties as may be required from time to time.
