Job title: Fleet Technical Support Manager - Rolling Stock
Job location: Central London
Salary: £50-£60k base (flexible DOE); Total Package Circa £55-60k pa
The Role5
You will head up the fleet technical support department and set the engineering agenda for the year with regards to technical support / services interventions and projects. This may cover rolling stock engineering projects, quality & standards, Performance and RAMs implementations.
You will proactively identify requirements for any fleet technical updates. Maintain and update maintenance information. Help build best practice and assist with project demands. Work closely with colleagues within reliability, production engineering, general engineering and business improvement.
You will be responsible for writing technical reports and offering cost effective and pragmatic solutions to a variety of engineering problems within rolling stock maintenance and operation.
You will be responsible for a number of direct reports across a variety of engineering disciplines within fleet support.
Person Profile
A strong rolling stock technical engineer with hands on depot or department management experience is ideal. You will lead the support technicians and engineers responsible for improving the quality, performance, reliability, maintainability and availability of rolling stock. You will supervise, inspect and approve all relevant work.
You will be responsible for over-seeing fleet technical actions in response to Asset Failure and setting the engineering agenda and priorities when deploying personnel for projects.
Essential
*OHNC/HND/Degree Level equivalent qualification and rolling stock experience.
*Has supervised workers previously.
*Motivated and strong interpersonal skills.
*Flexible & able to change shifts given due notice.

Desirable
*5 + years' experience within rolling stock engineering.
*Chartered Engineer
*Ideally ILM level 5 or other similar leadership qualifications
*Pragmatic & Analytically Minded and able to work independently and set the work load for others.
