Test & Commissioning Manager

Summary

Responsible for overall commissioning, integration and delivery into services of a wide range of

Communication & Control systems across a £100m plus project. You will be providing clear directives,

prioritisation of tasks, resource profiling, programme management and overall signoff.

Leading a team of over 70 people ranging from senior/lead engineers to field engineers and guiding them through the

project life cycle.

Purpose of Role

• Ensure Health, Safety and Environmental requirements are complied with and promote a zero

accident/incident culture and environment

• Establish and maintain a positive and collaborative relationship with the Client and with

subcontractors and other third parties interfaces

• Manage testing and commissioning in accordance with the Project and budget requirements as

well as the programme.

• Undertake regular audits of the testing and commissioning operation to ensure, Client, our own

and processes, regulations and standards are being complied with.

• Supporting various client strategies for bringing railway and station infrastructure into use.
• Supporting lead & site engineers with technical issues as required. Supporting integration

works with third parties.

• Overall technical signoff of all test documentation and all test results leading into handover to

end user (Self Assurance).

Knowledge & Experience

• 10+ Years railway commissioning experience must have held a similar role before.
• Good understanding of Fibre, Data Networks, Radio, SCADA and Telephony Systems
• Good understanding of London Underground and Network Rail process
• Excellent MS Office Skill inc Excel & Word.
• Excellent presentation & reporting skills to senior management.
• Excellent people management skills.
• Good understanding of Health & Safety on the railways and awareness of UK working

regulations.

Qualifications Required

• Hold a degree in the engineering field ideally in Systems or Telecommunication
• CEng or working towards qualification.
• CSCS Card or equivalent
• Site Supervisors Safety Training Scheme (Not essential)
