Ford & Stanley - The Rail Recruitment Specialists are working with an award-winning light rail operator in the North West of England, partnering up with them on recruiting several key roles related to the maintenance and presentation of the infrastructure and vehicles across the network.
The role of Engineering Planning Manager will lead the delivery and development of our client’s maintenance planning strategy by playing a key role in improving efficiencies and procedures. The role is deemed as highly important as it will directly impact the reduction of costs and H&S risks due to the improved asset maintenance optimisation and works planning that will be put in place.
Responsibilities
- Working with our client’s maintenance delivery teams, creating long-term maintenance plans for the infrastructure assets.
- Ensure maintenance plans are compliant with agreements in place.
- Contribution to the annual maintenance plan.
- Quarterly review and optimisation of the annual maintenance plan.
- Produce and manage the access planning procedures.
- Implement a web-based possession planning system.
- Review and improve the works access permit procedure.
Requirements
- Experience of working within an engineering planning function, in a safety critical environment, and ideally within passenger transport operations in heavy rail, light rail, or other highly regulated industry.
- Experience of working with various stakeholders, clients and third parties to develop strategic planning solutions and implement processes and procedures to improve efficiencies and promote maintenance optimisation across multiple engineering disciplines.
- Experience in the use of various IT software, such as computerised maintenance management systems, and other scheduling and planning tools.
- Knowledge of asset management best practice and standards (for example iso 55001), and how strategic planning integrates within an asset management framework to ensure asset safety, reliability and continuous improvement.
- Ability to demonstrate knowledge of industry specific safety regulations, and statutory requirements, ideally within passenger transport operations in heavy rail, light rail, or other highly regulated industry.
