A leading, award-winning consultancy firm is seeking an Isolation Planner to join there team on a temporary basis to work with a key client in the Rail sector.

This will be a 6 month contract initially with the potential for it to be extended.

Paying up to £250 a day!

The role:

• Produce Isolation Detail Form (IDF) for submission to Electric Control Rooms
• Create a rolling plan, and undertake site visits to Validate IDF's and arrange for suitable protection staff to support this process in line with standard Safe work pack process.
• Liaise with route Isolation Planners to ensure that all OCR requirements are published and included within the Isolation Planning Form (IPF) and provide feedback to the OCR team on changes to the agreed plan.
• Attend project construction, site and planning meetings as required.
• Create a good working relationship with Contractors, maintenance delivery units and ECR.
• Compile and maintain the Isolation diagrams and instructions ensuring the OCR team are briefed on changes accordingly.
• Undertake briefings with Nominated Persons for all planned work and they receive all relevant documentation.
• Manage the preparation of RRVS travelling under "Live" equipment, isolation working instructions, risk assessments and plans
• Manage and request the applications for DC isolations with third parties where required.
• Responsible for maintaining competencies relating to the post.
• Identify requirements for Line Blockage protection to safely carry out the isolation process and advise the resource planner when this is necessary.
• Liaise with the Senior Construction Manager to arrange for suitable training for Nominated and Authorised persons
• Liaise with local distribution teams and ECO to co-ordinate HV Permit requirements.

Requirements:

• PTS (AC/DCCR), COSS, Nominated Person
• 2 years experience of submitting isolation plans to route teams
• Good working knowledge of isolation planning processes
• Fully conversant with OHL AC and AT isolation process.
• Detailed knowledge of an operational railway environment on Great Western Main Line
• Good interpersonal, influencing, communication and organisation skills.
• Detailed knowledge of relevant standards and procedures, specifically The Rule Book (GE/RT8000), Green Book (NR/SP/ELP/29987)
• Extensive route knowledge on a national basis.
• Basic IT Skills (Word/Excel/Microsoft Outlook)
• 5 years experience as Nominated Person.
• Core Planning Skills 1 & 2.
• Good working knowledge of SSOWPS
• PPS
• Knowledge of DC Planning process.
• Distribution knowledge
• OHL Construction and Plant Knowledge.
