SPL Powerlines – Regional Isolations Planning Manager (South)

SPL Powerlines UK Limited is leading independent OHLE provider with both a Principle Contractors Licence and a Plant Operators Licence. The business provides turnkey OHLE capabilities from design through installation and commissioning to final testing. The Company operates both with the main line heavy rail factor and the mass transit factor. Changes to the cmpany have included the take over of a project previously a 50/50 partnership between the Powerlines Group and Carillion. Our team has grown significantly this year and our workload is developing too. Due to ongoing work we require an Isolations Planning Manager at our Wellingborough Depot.

Key Accountabilities

  • Liaise with Isolations team to ensure all necessary resources are arranged within appropriate lead times to support delivery of work schedules and programmes.
  • Co-ordinate and manage all isolation and worksite requirements resolving any conflicts/issues.
  • Work closely with Isolations team and supply chain to implement robust plans to control and reduce cost where necessary.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed regional programme of works, feeding this information into a national isolations programme.
  • Participation in client and Network Rail period and weekly planning reviews.
  • Responsible and accountable for Regional Isolation delivery in accordance with SPL procedures and customer requirements.
  • Accident/Incident investigation and management.
  • Act as the front face of the organisation, building and maintaining effective relationships with stakeholders such as, Network Rail and SPL Supply Chain.
  • Ensure all site paperwork is completed to a high standard, such as SWP’s, TBS, IDF’s etc.
  • Act as Responsible Manager for Railway Interface Planning.
  • Undertake periodic site audits and safety inspections when SPL Powerlines UK Limited staff are engaged on site duties
  • Identify regional training needs and development
  • Carry out OLE Isolations, and supervise SPL Isolation Teams on site.
  • Provide support and assistance with the preparation of tender documents

Job Skills, Experience and Qualifications

  • An ability to handle short term pressures arising from short term deadlines to achieve isolation delivery.
  • Computer literacy and use of planning tools.
  • Rail OLE Isolations planning experience – min 3 years.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • PTS / COSS / NP / SSOWP / OLEC1 – Essential
  • PPS experience / GAZM experience
  • Health & Safety qualification – IOSH
  • Experience of managing and developing staff
  • Capable of interfacing at all levels within an organisation.
  • Full driving license.
  • Willingness to travel and stay away as per business requirements.
