Materials Planner, East London / Essex, temp to perm circa £35,000PA
To plan, control & manage project material requirements to ensure availability meets Operational demand. To provide material cost analysis on a Unit by Unit basis. To control inventory to optimum levels and mitigate any potential Residual, Surplus & Obsolete material.
Optimal planning of Project Material - Rotables, 100% & On-Condition. Managing the project material requirements through BT's ERP system (SAP). Monitoring the on-condition material requirements through the project life cycle to ensure availability but avoid excessive inventory.
Expediting project material requirements in a timely manner to ensure "no surprises". Attending project meetings (incl. visualisation meetings) to ensure clear lines of communication on availability issues. Managing Non Conforming Material return process with suppliers.
Monitoring project material consumption on a Unit by unit basis. Liaising with the project team to mitigate risks or explore opportunities based on material usage trends.
Reviewing inventory levels to ensure optimum levels are achieved. Develop action plans to resolve any issues.
Liaising with the Materials department to ensure effective booking in & out, kitting, shortage reports, rejections and repairables control is maintained.
