Job Title - Planning Specialist
Location - St Patricks House, Cardiff
Rates - £268.01(Ltd) £235.46 (PAYE) In Scope of IR35 and subject to tax and national insurance which is taken at source as instructed by HMRC on your behalf by Capita.
About the role / project:
Working in the planning team on the Wales Route. This team manage the process for booking and recording of national engineering and access requirements (possessions, worksites, temporary speed restrictions).
What you will do:
The role will involve: -
- Integrate all access and TSR requests for a designated element of the Area plan.
- Manage effective relationships with internal and external customers.
- Assist in the identification and implementation of quality and efficiency improvement initiatives.
- Manage the engagement and development of individuals and of the team
- Manage and comply with Company procedures to provide appropriate resources, communication strategies, training, competency and evaluate fitness of staff to safely deliver their accountabilities
Your experience will include:
- Core planning skills 1 & 2.
- Knowledge of relevant train services and network capacity
- Able to integrate worksite requests into possessions and optimise the possession plan
- Able to specify all aspects of worksite and possession parameters
- Able to work under pressure within a continuous planning process
- Able to evaluate complex factors and make decisions to maximise benefit to Network Rail
- Good communication skills and a customer focussed approach
- Able to operate planning systems
Ideal experience:
- GZAM
- NROL
- PPS
- Experience with Access Planning, ideally with a contractor or consultant
- Geographical rail knowledge is also useful
