Becoming a Planner with Capita Real Estate & Infrastructure:
Capita Real Estate & Infrastructure are looking to recruit a Planner to join our team in London. The main purpose of the role is to develop and maintain the DEO integrated programme plan, ensuring the individual programme plans align with it. Align with other functions, such as cost and resource management, and address risks and issues arising. Manage the impact of delivery issues and changes on the integrated plan. Promulgate good planning practices. Provide consolidated reports at the DEO programme level, including added-value narratives, interpretations and recommendations.

What you will do:
Key Duties and Responsibilities (focus will depend upon particular assignment)
- Develop and manage an integrated DEO programme plan, including internal and external dependencies; ensure individual delivery programme plans align with the integrated plan.
- Identify areas of high risk within the integrated plan; develop and manage appropriate mitigation actions.
- Ensure the integrated plan is aligned with cost and resource plans, and other functions as appropriate; highlight and manage any issues to satisfactory resolution.
- Track delivery progress against the integrated plan through to completion; document, highlight and manage any exceptions to satisfactory resolution.
- Ensure the delivery programme teams provide regular programme plan updates.
- Update the integrated programme plan on a monthly basis, or as directed by senior management.
- Compile management reports, including associated metrics and added-value narratives, interpretations and recommendations, to support Board meetings and senior management reviews.
- Maintain customer (FLC and TLB) expectations from a programme perspective.
- Implement planning standards across DEO.
- Carry out regular delivery programme reviews; ensure (a) programme plans are deliverable and (b) planning best practices are being followed.
- Contribute to change planning by conducting impact assessments on the integrated programme plan and maintaining a log of all changes to the integrated programme plan.
- Provide education, guidance, advice and coaching on planning to DEO colleagues
- Ensure a best practice planning framework is rolled out and fully embedded on all programmes; resolve or escalate poor planning practices as appropriate.
- Ensure that all programme delivery staff receive an appropriate orientation to the DEO programme planning guidelines.
- Periodically issue Earned Value Analysis, including SPI, CPIs.
Key Deliverables
- Integrated DEO programme plan, including internal and external dependencies, updated monthly
- Contingency plans covering areas of high risk within the integrated plan
- Action plans covering planning issues relating to cost and resource plans, and other functions
- Action plans relating to delivery exceptions
- Consolidated updates from the delivery programmes
- Management reports, including narratives and associated metrics
- Planning standards and best practices document
- Meeting notes from Programme Reviews, Impact Assessments, and notes evidencing follow-up to completion
- Log of all changes to the integrated programme plan
- Earned Value Analysis reports
- Updates to planning risks, issues, assumptions and dependencies on the appropriate logs
- Induction and training materials
- Knowledge and skills transfer log.
Your experience will include:
Desirable Experience / Qualifications
- Managing Successful Programmes Practitioner
- Prince 2 or APM Practitioner
- Advanced User of the Microsoft Office Suite of Tools, including MS Project
- Proven experience of planning major programmes.
Special Conditions
The candidate must hold a minimum security clearance of Security Check (SC), or be capable of obtaining this.
