Planning & Rostering Coordinator in Rugby, West Midlands, United Kingdom
Purpose of the Role
Allocating the necessary staff for delivering operational work carried out by Rail Services according to the requirements of the customers' orders. This will be achieved through the production of accurate work plans for OTM Staff and maintenance staff, ensuring an efficient use of all available man power, whilst complying to the constraints of the relevant terms and conditions stipulated in the contracts of different staff members.
Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities

Manage all Network Rail S&C & MPV services by thorough checking of their requests to identify possible issues that Could affect the ability of Colas Rail to Deliver.

Attend Planning Meetings & Conference calls with Network Rail to discuss future
Work load, identify issues that will affect any S&C & MPV services. -
Liaise with all departments on a Daily & Weekly basis to identify any conductor issues for Plant and source conductors

Attend meetings with the Rostering Co-Ordinators to discuss forward rostering of S&C & MPV Services to enable all service to be populated and any Route Knowledge or Competency issues to be identified and managed

Check the Rosters & Work plans in collaboration with the Rostering Co-Ordinators & Operational Managers plant prior to distribution to Drivers.

Attend Meetings with the Head of Planning and Rostering Manager to discuss future workload and impacts to the delivery of Colas On Track Machines and Freight

Provide accurate work plans to all Drivers Staff to ensure that all contractual and operational requirements for the Colas operated fleet are compliant, timely and cost effective within the constraints of all appropriate terms and conditions and contracts

Participate in Internal Daily, Weekly & Periodic operational planning meetings when required

Identify the need for External Conductors and staff lodging requirements in advance to keep both to a minimum and identify where Route learning is required in advance to the work

Arrange cover when Annual Leave is taken.

Carry out On-Call duties when required
Person Specification
-
Good knowledge of IT equipment and computer planning as currently used by Colas Rail Services

Knowledge and experience of general planning
-
Knowledge of TOPS and Freight.

Good geographical knowledge of the railway infrastructure network
-
A proven team player who has the ability to deliver in what could be described as demanding circumstances

Able to present information in a clear and concise manner
-
Able to communicate with personnel at all levels

Holder of full UK driving licence
