THE COMPANY

My client is a leading rail maintenance contractor who are part of a wider construction company operating all over the UK in various sectors, with a group turnover just shy of £1billion. Their rail division is a market specialist who have successfully won work on several frameworks across the UK, with a view to continue growing and to get their foot in the door with larger projects.

Due to internal progression, they are looking for a Possession Planner to join the team in Bristol – and to potentially follow the same footpath and climb the ladder internally as well!

IDEAL CANDIDATE

I bet you’re wondering what skills you need for this role? Well, with the role becoming open due to internal progression, my client is more looking for someone ambitious, driven by progression and willing to undertake additional training to not only improve skillset in their current role, but to also contribute to climbing up the ladder within the business.

In an ideal world, you will be a ready-made Possession Planner looking to hit the ground running, however if you’re more junior looking for the chance to step up to the plate, I want to hear from you also!

ABOUT THE JOB

As you will know, being within possession planning means you will need to attend frequent possession meetings with Network Rail. My client covers a broad geographical patch (Thames Valley and Wales & Western) so meetings could be anywhere in the region, so you must be willing to travel. The bulk of the job will be the day-to-day booking and managing of possessions, which could either be regular scheduled blockades as part of the company’s maintenance framework, as well as slightly larger projects/frameworks requirements.

This role is high paced and requires excellent attention to detail and administrative skills – are you up for the challenge?

REQUIREMENTS

To be considered for the role, you don’t necessarily need any formal qualifications – my client is looking for people with experience of Possession Planning, and you must have a PPS log in. PACKAGE

In return, my client is offering a basic salary up to £40k depending on your level of experience plus a competitive package including car/car allowance, pension, holidays, healthcare – the typical package to expect at this level.
