Possession and SSOW Planner

Manager with all Possession requirements, planning, providing

And reviewing all SSOW documentation.

Main purpose of Job:

Assisting the Possession

Produce SSOW packs in accordance with issued requests

Undertake checks and register of issued and returned packs

Support possession Manager as required in planning meetings and worksite / possession planning

Build relationships with site staff to ensure plans meet site requirements

Undertake site inspections to ensure site risks are captured and works are planned safely

Work with SSL subcontractors to ensure SSOW packs are to NR / SSL standards

Check and review subcontractor SSOW and worksite requests

Undertake the Role of SSOW planner.

Deputise for the role of Possession Manager.

Assist with the access planning process to produce possession plans that are in accordance with the relevant industry and company standards.

Contribute to the performance, development and succession planning of team members to promote a cohesive and high performing team

Develop and maintain relationships with SSL and other Contractors planning teams.

Promote and maintain a culture of continuous improvement.

Undertake the role in a way that is consistent with, and reinforces company standards.

Assist in the booking of worksites through the Possession Planning System and represent SSL at possession planning meetings when required.

Ensure SSOW documentation is prepared and issued prior to commencement of all site works.

Work with Network Rail to resolve any access conflicts

Ensure planned possessions meet programme and operational requirements

Review work content with planning, project management team and client to ensure access plan is understood and suitable to task

Ensure all access to the rail infrastructure is planned in accordance with RT/LS/019 and WIN/CON/317

Liaise with client and other contractors to maximise available track access.

Assist in the identification and notification of interface programme risks and opportunities.

Ensure sub contractors’ SSOW’s meet SSL standards

Assist in the provision of site specific information packs for COSS’s

Represent SSL at planning review, whiteboard, PICOP and production meetings as required

Skills:

Proven organisational capability

Proven experience in supporting high-performing teams

Ability to engage at a senior level

Proven ability to engage with customers and build collaborative relationships with stakeholders at a senior level

Proven experience in delivering to agreed timescales and standards.

Knowledge of applicable standards

Good communication skills

Good IT skills

Qualifications:

Educated to degree standard, or be able to demonstrate equivalent experience

SSOW planner

COSS / IWA

Experience:

5 years’ experience in a safety critical role

Skills:

Knowledge of relevant railway geography and network capability

Knowledge of relevant train services and network capacity

Knowledge of possession parameters
