The nature & purpose of the job.

The role reports directly to the Head of Rosters, and will ensure that all rosters are robustly planned, while also capable of being reactive to unforseen changes. Essential areas of experitse will be required in dealing with colleage fatigue, and the deployment of on-track work force.

The main responsibilities and activities.

• Creation and distribution of rosters to deliver a weekly plan of trains
• Ensure the roster delivers all company aims and objectives.
• Manage staff holiday
• Commercial astute, managing budgets when booking hotels / travel / materials etc.

This role requires the successful applicant to help create a safe environment, for themselves and colleagues maintain and exceed their minimum standard in line with legal expectations.

The key attributes of a successful candidate.

• An excellent knowledge of Rail rolling stock operations with a competent knowledge of the railway geography.
• Excellent organisation skills and attention to detail
• Working knowledge of Rail conditions of service regarding employees.
