Senior Planner (Civils)

A leading Main and Principal contractor operating across the infrastructure sector. They have a strong heritage and well developed loyal client base. They have a proven track record of successful delivery across traditionally tendered projects and longer term partnering agreements. There is a strong team ethic within the business meaning a well-motivated work force and a very low staff turnover. They are now looking for a high calibre Senior Planner.

The Role

To develop, manage and maintain project schedules and associated breakdown structures

Develop the process and framework used to define, maintain, report and control schedules, identify interfaces, promote and monitor milestone definition sheets, establish baselines, code and resource schedules.

Ensure consistent application, effective and timely delivery of time management

Work in accordance with Risk Managers, project teams and cost managers to integrate time and cost through cost and resource loaded schedules.

Work with Risk Managers and project teams to identify and drive down risk to agreed plans, ensuring that potential conflicts are understood and make sound proposals to mitigate each risk.

Carry out critical path and earned value analysis producing reports where appropriate.

Work with Risk and Cost teams to develop summary schedules

Provide presentations, coaching and facilitation in the use of planning software

Produce progress reports showing variance against the baselines, including RAG status reports based against time

Provide guidance and undertake earned value analysis to inform proactive decision making and risk mitigation

Complete and close out schedule activities to capture as built data for time and cost benchmarking

About You

Ideally hold a Civil Engineering degree or equivalent

Have an In-depth and broad understanding of planning as applied in major civil environments

Detailed experience of Critical Path Analysis;

Expert knowledge of Primavera software and experience of MS Project;

Experience operating within a complex project controls environment.
