Senior Planner
The Role
This role is a senior planning role working on the East Coast Mainline (ECML) ETCS bid leading the production of the bid programmes that will be submitted as part of the EMCL ETCS Tender. The role reports into the Senior Planning Manager and will be fully integrated into the bid team focused on delivering a successful bid.
As a senior member of the planning function working in the bid environment you will be excepted to bring skills and experience of major railway signalling programmes both in bid development and delivery.
What are my responsibilities?
Production of project plans in support of the bid submission for ECML ETCS
Work closely with the discipline and engineering leads to develop work packages and programme interfaces both inertial and external
Work closely with project, commercial and finance managers and members of the wider bid team to ensure project schedules are accurately resource and cost loaded.
Work closely with site and possession planners to ensure cohesion between these different activities and the main project schedule.
Be the technical planning expert ensuring consistent application of standards and procedures in accordance with project management, planning and procedures and processes.
Perform critical path analysis and schedule integration checks to advise of possible actions and areas of concern.
Ensure that the tender programmes can be fully developed into contract programmes and ensure that periodic project reporting requirements cab be met for both internal and client through the provision of KPI, EV, schedule delay and critical path analysis reports as required.
Essential Requirements:
Degree/HND/HNC level qualifications or relative demonstrable experience.
Experience of planning major infrastructure projects preferably in the rail industry.
Experience of working with senior management both internally and in the client organisation.
Technical planning expert to advanced Primavera level with knowledge and use of other planning tool such as MS Project
Self-motivated with sound interpersonal and communication skills, coupled with an assertive style of behaviour.
Practiced analytical and problem-solving skills
Desirable Requirements:
Technical/Engineering/Business background ideally with knowledge of railway signalling.
Working knowledge and experience of project management methodologies
Experience of leading a planning team to deliver major infrastructure projects preferably in the rail industry.
