DESCRIPTION
We are currently looking for a Senior Planner for our clients Weybridge office who meets the following requirements:
- A minimum of 5 years’ technical delivery experience gained within a construction consultancy or contractor.
- Experience in varied sectors and procurement forms including NEC.
- Experience in use of programme software: Elecosoft (Asta) PowerProject preferred. Oracle Primavera (P6) software &/or Microsoft Project experience is an advantage.
- Experience within Project Controls / Programme Management environment.
- Pre- and post-contract experience.
- Good technical writing, client-facing and communication skills.
- Articulate: Able to communicate complex issues in a clear manner, both verbally and written.
- Analytical thinking: Able to demonstrate a logical approach to problem solving.
- Ability to achieve buy-in to work from clients and other project stakeholders.
- Well-organised, diligent, proactive, assertive, well-disciplined and commercially astute.
- A team player with a ‘can do’ attitude, outgoing, polite, patient, diplomatic, personable, respectful and flexible.
- APM / CIOB Qualification obtained.
- Educated to degree or equivalent level.
You will support project leaders in generating a high standard of service delivery, achieving successful outcomes for our clients, capturing and sharing knowledge across projects, enhancing our culture of innovation and reinforcing our reputation as preferred service provider.
Responsibilities
Provide a Planning and Programming service to both external and internal clients, ensuring that all time related issues within projects are effectively considered and are able to be controlled or addressed. This programme offer can span all stages of the construction project life from concept and feasibility stages through to occupation.
- Prepare high level strategic programmes to identify and assess impact of key sequence, responsibilities and key strategies
- Provide consultancy advise on all programming and monitoring issues
- Monitor and report against programmes at all stages of pre-construction and construction, including the use of S-curves, trend analysis, baselines, Critical Path analysis, rescheduling etc.
- Undertake analysis of tender and contract programmes from Contractors.
- Prepare Critical Path analysis.
- Establish sequence, durations and options for all stages of projects including design and procurement, legal, financial, gateways, construction & commissioning.
- Co-ordinate with project teams including clients, project managers, cost consultants, design and other consultants, and contractors, to negotiate and co-ordinate project programme issues.
- Provide consultancy advice on delay mitigation and undertake comprehensive delay and forensic analysis activities.
- Develop site logistic and phasing management plans.
- Resource programmes to demonstrate key inputs & outputs.
- Working in any or all sectors of the Construction industry including residential, retail, commercial, life sciences, health, education and transport / infrastructure.
- A key contributor in the Project Management team assisting in the successful implementation and delivery of large, complex projects.
- Actively involved in business development and maintaining client relations.
- Delivering all work outputs in an accurate and timely manner
Representing the company in a professional and diligent manner; meeting, negotiating and corresponding with clients to form strong working relationships.
