Survey Manager
Salary: Upto £45,000 per annum (Company Vehicle and additional benefits)
Location: London
My client is currently in the market for an experienced Survey Manager to come on aboard and help run a team of Utility / Rail Surveyors having won a lot of work in the London area.
The position requires technical and commercial knowledge of the industry and the person must be able to build strong working relationships with our survey team and clients.
Duties and responsibilities for the Survey Manager include:
- To support the Operations Manager in achieving departmental targets.
- To ensure all projects are completed to time, budget and required quality.
- Support and liaise with other Project Managers within the management team.
- Comply with company H&S policy and ensure safe working practices are adopted.
- To ensure quality systems and procedures are maintained and adhered to.
- Effective project administration including method statements, risk assessments, commercial documentation, invoicing and debt recovery (as appropriate).
- Promote the company image and encourage sales and development opportunities.
- Relationship management of key corporate accounts and contracts.
- Assess and communicate resource requirements with the Operations Manager.
- Support the Operations Manager with training, development and performance management of all surveyors and office staff.
- Project estimations and quotations, including site visits.
- To continually seek ways for the company to improve its financial performance.
- Carry out Audits to ensure the companies SHEQ standards and procedures are adhered to.
- Research, assess, explore and promote business development and growth opportunities.
The successful candidate:
- Be educated to degree level (or equivalent) in Civil Engineering/Land Surveying or a similar discipline
- Previous Rail based experience/site experience
- Previous experience managing a team of Rail Surveyors
- Good analytical and problem solving skills, together with excellent oral, written, communication and presentation skills.
