Central Operations Team Support in Widnes, Cheshire, United Kingdom
We have an exciting opportunity for a Central Operations Team Support member to join an exciting and prestigious project in Widnes for a leading rail company. This is a great chance for you to gain experience in a fast-paced working environment with a large team!
Hours, Pay & Anticipated Start Date
You will work around 20 hours per week, due to the nature of the role you must be flexible enough to work both days and nights.
The hourly rate is £22.30 per hour for all hours worked.
Our Client is eager to have the successful candidate start ASAP!
Experience
Desired but non-essential;
- The candidate should have a minimum of 10 years footplate experience on the mainline, additionally hold a D32 and IV1 if possible.
Required Experience;
- A good knowledge and understanding of railway operational activities specifically associated with controlling rail vehicle movements in depots and factories. A working knowledge of track infrastructure and its maintenance and a high level of knowledge related to competency assurance and training requirements for operational staff.
-Knowledge of applicable regulatory and specific Rail Industry safety, quality and environmental standards.
Skills: communication, influencing and strong inter-personal skills. Fluent in English.
Responsibilities
- Carry out and co-ordinate Shunting, Driving and Controller assessments and carry out /
co-ordinate other operational assessments such as communications protocol, operations
underpinning knowledge etc.
- Adhering to Railway Group Standards Agreed Code of Practice 3551 Train Driving, GORT 3251 Train
Driving and GORT 3260 Competency, GE/RT 8000 Rule Book. To ensure the safe operations of train
movements
- Follow all Rules, Regulations and Instructions applicable to the post and follow instructions given by those in charge at places of work, except where you believe there is an imminent danger to yourself or others.
- Take reasonable care for the health and safety of yourself and of other persons who may be
affected by your acts or omissions.
- Not intentionally or recklessly interfere with or misuse anything provided in the interests of safety
- Maintain knowledge of Railway Operational safety regulatory and other requirements
appertaining to the UK rail industry.
Note, our Client has a strict zero-tolerance Drug & Alcohol policy. You will be expected to pass a Drug & Alcohol Test before starting.
