Ford & Stanley - The Rail Recruitment Experts are seeking a Financial Controller on a 12 months fixed term contract to lead the company's financial accounting and reporting activities, ensuring accurate and timely accounting information is produced with a culture of continuous improvement.

Role and Responsibilities

• Develop systems to ensure the efficient and effective management of the UK financial ledgers and accounting processes.
• Lead the monthly close process, delivering financial information required by the business ensuring that the group on time reporting KPI is meet.
• Meet all internal and external reporting requirements within given deadlines including statutory accounts, VAT, National Statistics and group consolidation reporting.
• Act as main point of contact for the external advisors and provide all required information.
• Ensure compliance with group accounting policies and all relevant accounting standards.
• Work with the Senior Finance Manager to implement a control environment to underpin the accuracy of the UK financial reporting.
• Foster a culture of continuous improvement.
• Work with department managers to prepare annual cost centres budget.
• Manage finance and other projects as required.

Essentials

• Professionally qualified (ACA, CIMA, ACCA)
• Experience in a manufacturing environment
• Excellent communication skills
• Able to work under pressure, to fixed deadlines
• Business/Customer orientated
• Attention to detail
• IT literate and fully conversant with all Microsoft office applications and MRP
