Main purpose of the job
The Financial Controller will be responsible for managing the financial records of the Company, the financial accounting systems, aspects of team management and the activities of the finance department. The Financial Controller must prepare financial analysis to support the business and be able to provide appropriate advice to non-financial managers.

Main duties
*Preparation of monthly management accounts and financial KPI reports
*Reconciliation and management of all balance sheet accounts, including bank reconciliations.
*Daily maintenance of the nominal ledgers
*VAT Reconciliation and Returns
*Support with the preparation and maintenance of statutory returns and payments e.g. P11D's, PAYE, PSA settlements
*Preparation and management of declarations, returns and reporting to third parties (credit insurers, banks, clients etc.)
*Managing audit processes and various external auditors including preparation of annual statutory accounts
*Purchase ledger & staff expenses processing/verification/authorisation
*Assist with day to day Accounting issues within the accounts Department
*Daily management of the invoice discounting facility and cash flow management
*Management of staff commission/bonus calculations and submission of statements
*Management of the finance functions/teams excluding Contractor payroll function
*Verification of staff payroll
*Custodian of the financial accounting system
*Deputising in the absence of FD
*Special Project Assignments
*Any other duties on an ad hoc basis as and when required
Core Competencies for this Role
*Ideally you will be fully qualified (ACCA/CIMA) however qualified by experience will be considered
*You should have a minimum of 5 years previous experience in a finance manager and/or financial controller role.
*Strong accounting and reconciliation skills
*Strong/advance excel skills essential
*Hands on approach, must be a self-starter
*Team player with staff supervisory/management experience
*Ability to operate in a pressured team environment.
*Ability to work to deadlines is required.
*Good attention to detail.
*Strong time management skills
*Excellent personal presentation, professionalism in all forms of communications;
*Excellent time management and general organisational skills;
*Have a methodical approach, paying attention to detail;
*Be familiar with a range of quality standards and models;
*Experience in overcoming objections and influencing others;
