Samuel Knight Rail are pleased to be recruiting for our prestigious Rolling Stock client, who are currently seeking a Train Maintenance Controller to join their team in London.

Due to exceptional growth, new contracts won and ambitious plans for 2018 - we have been engaged to source a "Train Maintenance Controller " or "Power Controller" to join our client and help manage a fleet of around 150 locomotives across the UK.

The locomotives require servicing, maintenance, general repairs and emergency treatments - ensuring that the parts and labour are scheduled and available for the locomotives arriving in specified depots on specified evenings is vital. This contributes to the overall operational performance of the business.

The successful candidate will be required to;

• Provide planning services to the Operational function of this train operator
• Ensure the scheduled work load is in line with available resources in individual depots
• Contribute to the overall efficiency of the operators daily work and ensure lost time is minimal
• Create documents on the locomotive availability status as required

The successful candidate will, ideally, have experience of;

• Railway Operations
• Railway planning & maintenance scheduling
• An understanding of the Railway train operation schedules & associated demands

It is possible that we can consider candidates from outside of the Rail industry for this position, although it would clearly be advantageous if prior experience of a similar role was held.
