Samuel Knight International are currently recruiting for Qualified , UK or European licence holding, train drivers. We are recruiting on behalf of an operating company who have exclusively asked Samuel Knight to provide multiple candidates before the end of 2017.

Our client are one of the UK's most prominent names on the Rail network & have recently won a large section of work in the Midlands - securing long-term work and offering stability, progression and financial opportunity for all successful applicants.

It is essential that applicants are qualified train drivers, ideally with experience on the UK Network Rail Mainline infrastructure. Unfortunately, we are not able to consider trainees or non-licence holding candidates at this time.

Successful candidates will be able to demonstrate the following;

Key Skills:

• Previous Passenger or Freight train driving experience would be extremely advantageous - but a UK or European train driving licence is essential
• OTM, Tamper driving experience would be considered advantageous
• Good reported incident rate
• Good route knowledge
• Mainline experience
• Good attendance record

Person Specification:

• The ability to react quickly, calmly and safely to unexpected problems
• A responsible attitude and a high level of safety awareness
• A willingness to work flexibly
• Good ability to concentrate over long periods
• Experience of working shifts including nights
• Good communication skills
• Good customer service skills
• An excellent understanding of normal and emergency procedures

This is an opportunity for an experienced Train Driver to work with a global rolling stock organisation that support and develop their staff.
