ADMINISTRATOR – TRAIN DRIVER SCHEME

As part of the continued development of the OTM organisation an opportunity has arisen to apply for the newly created role of Administrator - Train Driver Scheme.

Reporting to the Professional Head of Operations key duties will include:

  • Assist in the development of systems and procedures required to support the elements of the train driver apprenticeship that are applicable to VolkerRail’s operations.
  • Once established, ensure that the requirements of the systems and procedures to support the elements of the train driver apprenticeship are implemented.
  • Liaise with internal and external approval bodies (i.e Ofsted, support provider) as required to ensure continued best practice and compliance.
  • Co-ordinate, maintain and monitor training plans and arrangements to meet the requirements of the procedures for Trainee Train Drivers, ensuring all criteria is attained in the economic timescales.
  • Working with the rostering team, assist in the allocation of hours for training/mentored shifts for Trainees and Mentors.
  • Ensure logbooks and records are maintained by the individual and the business to meet the required standards.
  • Provide general administrative support across train driver operations.

To be eligible to apply you must meet with the following criteria:

  • NVQ Level 2 Business Administration or equivalent
  • Previous and demonstrable experience in a business administration role
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication, literacy and interpersonal skills
  • Experience of producing work for a team of people juggling competing priorities
  • Proficient in Microsoft office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook)
  • Flexible/proactive – can do attitude who shows initiative to support others
