Train Maintainer - Refurb

Work Location - Stratford Market Depot

Rates of pay for the individuals will be £25.67 per hour for refurbishment train maintainers - Umbrella

The interview process will consist of a short personal interview, a short practical test and a short theory test. No longer than 1 hours per individual.

Work will be on shift pattern, 4 days on, 4 days off, Days and nights, 11 hours per shift excluding 1 hours unpaid break. However initially day working Monday to Friday may be required for training & knowledge building purposes.

Requirements of all individuals prior to them starting on site will be to have overalls, passed a medical and drug & alcohol test, have a valid sentinel license and hold passport to depot certification. Contractors will not be able to start until the hold the above.

PURPOSE OF JOB


The strip out and refitting of Rolling Stock to specified standards of safety, quality and reliability in order to meet project deliverables. Responsible for the electrical and mechanical strip out and fitment of Rolling Stock, to meet or exceed safety, quality and productivity targets.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

*Accurate written and numeracy skills in order to calculate or record situations associated with duties.

*Ensure safety and quality standards and practices meet legislation and LUL standards.
*Assess defect sheets to estimate probable cause, specify spares and tools required and arrange for facilities to be available. Prioritise work specified.
*Ensure all assurance documentation is satisfied and adhered to following all maintenance activities to include projects.
*Ensure that all tools and equipment used conform to the standards applied by the Unit and report all non-conformances.
*Demonstrate understanding of location and use of information sources for repairs e.g. Drawings, Manuals, Work Instructions and Procedures.
*Operate fixed and mobile Plant such as Forklift/Overhead Cranes/Machine Tools.
*Able to understand and carry out written and verbal instructions and recommend appropriate action to suit site conditions.
*Have the ability to work within the current asset management system to ensure full asset compliance to relevant rolling stock standards
*Be able to work to a 24/7 shift system.

ESSENTIAL / DESIRABLE EXPERIENCE / QUALIFICATIONS

*Must be able to hold a TSW027/TSW028 medical license for Safety Critical Working SCL 7 & 10.
*Must be able to hold LU Access/Sentinel certification & LU passport to depot license.
*Desirable but not essential experience in rolling stock
*Essential to have extensive experience in mechanical/electrical work plus coach building experience.
*Have the ability to learn and follow instructions as part of a team.
*Desirable ability to read and interpret drawings to include but not be restricted to wiring, schematics.
