Job title: Rolling Stock Systems Engineer (Train Control Systems)
Job location: Derby
Salary: £Flexible DOE
We are currently recruiting an experienced engineer within train control systems to join a product team developing on board train control systems from bids to physical delivery. This position will see you support a wide product team globally with a focus on projects in the UK and Germany.
You will be very technically minded and have experience within a number of the following; TPWS, AWS, Traction Control, Brake Control, Vigilance, GSM-R and DAS.
You will be responsible for support the bids, requirements, design, fitment design and installation teams with specialist electrical & train control systems engineering experience.
This will include:
*Evaluate electrical engineering issues and constraints within the train control systems.
*Working closely with the on-board fitment design teams to ensure a strong understanding of system interfaces and the productions of suitable technical libraries & instructions.
*Produce Survey reports , installation instructions, Bill of Materials, maintenance & overhaul instructions.
*Provide guidance on EMC related installation issues.
*Work alongside the wider team you will be responsible for the electrical systems engineering strategy.
* Assist the Hardware Manager.
*Diagnose & Fault-find complex safety critical control systems.
Person Profile
The ideal candidate will come from a train control systems background within the rail sector. Ideally electrically biased with previous maintenance experience.
Essential
*Minimum Degree level engineering qualifications.
*Previously worked within a technical engineering role working with rail systems.
*Understanding of ETCS and/or CBTC systems.

Desirable
*3 + years' experience within the rail sector.
*Ambition to progress long term within a company.
*Pragmatic & Analytically Minded and able to work independently with little direction.
