Are you confident managing challenging client relationships and ready to step into a role with clear progression towards Associate Director?
Salary: Up to £80,000 per annum
Location: Liverpool, 3 days per week
Job title: Associate
Travel: Some travel to Hull may be required
Start: ASAP
An exclusive opportunity has arisen for an Associate Cost Manager to join a leading infrastructure company, supporting a major project in Liverpool.
This is a senior post-contract cost management role with a strong client-facing focus. You will take ownership of commercial delivery, manage key relationships and support the wider business beyond project delivery, including bids, team development and operational activity.
The role would suit someone who is highly self-assured, commercially strong and comfortable operating in a demanding client environment.
Requirements
- Strong post-contract Cost Management or Quantity Surveying experience.
- Significant experience working under NEC contracts
- Alternatively, a strong background across complex major civils, including Ports & Marine, bridges, tunnels or large reinforced concrete structures.
- Confident client and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong commercial judgement and the ability to manage challenging relationships professionally.
- Experience managing cost, change, forecasting, and commercial reporting across complex projects.
- Willingness to work on-site in Liverpool 3 days per week.
- Comfortable with occasional travel to Hull.
Nice to have
- MRICS chartership.
- Experience mentoring or developing junior commercial staff.
- Exposure to bids, business development, or wider operational responsibilities.
- Interest in progressing towards Associate Director level.
My client is keen to bring in people who want to contribute beyond project delivery. The Associate level is seen as a key development step towards Associate Director, with opportunities to become involved in mentoring, line management, bids and wider business activity.
The business also places strong emphasis on professional development and actively supports employees working towards chartership through RICS or other recognised professional bodies.
