Location: Barton Under Needwood
Salary: £19.82 per hour
Shift Pattern: Monday to Friday – Minimum 37 hours a week + overtime

We are recruiting for a Crank Grinder to join a well-established engineering team in Barton Under Needwood.

This is an excellent opportunity for either an experienced Crank Grinder or a skilled Cylindrical Grinder looking to receive training in a specialist machining discipline.

Working within a precision engineering environment, you will be responsible for the refurbishment and grinding of large rotating components, ensuring they meet exact customer and engineering specifications.

The Ideal Candidate

You’ll offer MIG welding expertise combined with practical mechanical assembly experience.

• A background in welding and fabrication in either MIG, Stick or MMA
• Experience of welding on mild steel
• You will be able to weld different angles such as vertical and overhead and carry out multi runs
• Must be able to work from engineering drawings and instruction.
• Have a strong attention to detail
• Able to work on your own and as part of a team.

Essential Criteria

• Previous experience operating grinding machinery within an engineering or manufacturing environment.
• Experience in cylindrical grinding, precision machining, toolroom, heavy engineering, rail, automotive, aerospace or similar industries.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and work to tight tolerances
• Knowledge of precision measurement equipment.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.

Essential Criteria

• Previous crank grinding experience
• Experience refurbishing rotating or mechanical components.
• Engineering apprenticeship or relevant engineering qualification.
