Our client in the rail industry is looking to recruit a Spanish speaking Delivery Manager for its Beckton site on a Permanent basis. The role pays up to £60000 per annum plus benefits including a relocation package where necessary, 25 day Annual Leave and health packages. VISA costs can also be supported where required.

Although rail experience is an advantage, other industries will be considered.

Job Summary:
The role of the Delivery Manager is a diverse role that requires the successful candidate to operate across multiple stakeholders, both internal and external to achieve customer acceptance of the DLR Project. The Delivery Manager will report into the Head of Production with the daily support of the Depot Testing and Commissioning Manager.


Key Responsibilities:

- Responsible for ensuring that the trains are coupled when they arrive on arrival Beckton from the International Manufacturing plant.
- Ensure that all pending points are closed prior to final inspection. This includes quality issues, material installation and modifications.
- Ensure vehicles are presented to the client to the agreed standard ready for passenger service.
- Manage final inspections prior to deliveries.
- Participate in the daily morning meetings to ascertain daily workload to support Testing runs and achieve customer acceptance.
- Monitoring material delivery to support project progress - NCRs, shortages, and modifications.
- Investigating manufacturing challenges and monitoring quality trends whilst answering technical queries from the operatives
- Monitoring staff performance and lead team of 4-6 operators
- Updating production schedules into Commissioning Schedule
- Monitoring production costs to ensure that targets are achieved on time within budget and within Quality standards
- Managing safe working practices and ensuring high environmental standards within the team
- Ensure personal compliance with all HSE legislation and HSE Company policy
- Deliver positive leadership and promote the adoption of best-in-class
- Be fully familiar and conversant with department and company policies, procedures and processes, ensuring all work and actions undertaken are in full compliance at all times
- Support other departments and carry out other duties as and when business requirements dictate as may be reasonably expected by line manager
- Manage depot assets to ensure the depot is maintained in operational condition.
- Ensure safety controls are adhered to and all local procedures / regulations are respected (H&S / Safety Training).
- Develop lean methods to implement best practice within the depot Co-ordinate with the Training & Competency Manager, ensuring training and competency requirements are met in relation to the depot and its assets

Record keeping

  • Ensure accurate records are completed and maintained in accordance with procedures in place, and work in progress is communicated to Line Managers and team members.


Health, Safety & Environment

  • Ensure that all work carried out is compliant with health, safety and environmental legislation and Company policies and procedures.


Quality

  • Ensure all work carried out is compliant with Company quality management systems/policies and procedures.
  • Carry out quality checks to ensure, where relevant, product meets quality and safety standards.

General

  • Is pro-active in the role and identifies improved ways of supporting the Company in managing its objectives.
  • Participate as and when required in team and one-to-one meetings and undertake training (job specific, health & safety, environmental) relevant to the role.
  • Keep up to date with developments within the Company and other sector wide practices that influence the day-to-day activities within the role, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and any other relevant external/internal factors, for example, Company policies and procedures, Quality, Health & Safety, and Environmental.
  • Ensure, in the course of employment, complete confidentiality is maintained in respect of the Company, its dealings, transactions, and all other information relating to clients/ customers and staff.
  • Promote the Company by whatever means are appropriate and available so as to ensure a positive image to customers/clients.
  • Demonstrate commitment to the Company's values, and its aims and objectives, and the implementation of its Equal Opportunities policy in the workplace.
