Up to £500 per day

TXM Recruit are seeking an experienced Electrification & Plant Project Engineer to support several projects with one of our major rail clients. These projects will be based on stations, depots, infrastructure and more.

The purpose of the role will be to assist in design and construction activities for allocated electrification and plant projects within the client’s programme. Provide technical leadership and guidance to consultants, contractors, and internal stakeholders to ensure appropriate engineering standards and best practice are applied throughout design and delivery phases.

Key Accountabilities

  • Deliver the project’s safely to time, cost and quality, in accordance with the clients processes applicable to Railway Group and Network Rail company standards and other specific legislation including construction design and management Regulations (CDM).
  • Manage all engineering activities so that they result in schemes that are affordable and meet programme requirements.
  • Participate in the development of supply strategies and framework contracts.
  • Monitor design and specialist consultants and contractors to ensure works are compliant with relevant legislation.
  • Provide Engineering design support and advice to Project Managers in respect of all construction activities, including testing. Manage so the design and/or construction elements of the projects meet the requirements of current legislation.
  • Develop strong commercial relationships at senior level, with new and existing suppliers and occupiers, leading to increased influence and business partnerships.

What we require?

  • Educated to degree or HND/C level in a relevant engineering discipline.
  • Membership of an appropriate Engineering Institution (preferred)
  • Successful relevant experience in engineering disciplines, ideally with involvement in construction and design projects across multi discipline areas.
  • Proven knowledge of quality assurance.
  • Full working knowledge of Auto Cad.
  • Strong knowledge and practical understanding of project management processes, support systems, and contract management, together with a comprehensive awareness of safety legislation including CDM Regulations, and detailed knowledge of rail industry standards and their effective application.
