Summary

Due to continued growth and project success, a multi-disciplinary railway turnkey business, is looking to hire an experienced Environmental Advisor to support rail infrastructure projects across the UK.

Based from our clients office in Chesterfield with the occasion need to travel to sites.

This is a key role driving environmental compliance, sustainability and Net Zero initiatives across high profile projects and the successful candidate will be responsible for;

- Leading environmental compliance across multiple projects
- Provide expert guidance to project teams and senior management
- Manage environmental risks, audits, and inspections
- Develop and implement EMPs/ESMPs
- Drive sustainability, carbon reduction, and biodiversity initiatives
- Support ISO 14001 and IMS compliance

Essential Requirements

- Degree in Environmental Management, Environmental Science, or similar
- Extensive experience in environmental roles within construction, infrastructure, or rail
- Strong knowledge of UK environmental legislation and compliance
- Experience with environmental audits, inspections, and EMPs
- Working knowledge of ISO 14001 management systems
- Certified Internal Environmental Auditor (or equivalent)
- Strong communication, leadership, and stakeholder engagement skills

Desirable

- Experience within the rail sector (Network Rail / Tier 1 projects)
- Knowledge of RISQS and rail assurance processes
- PTS or willingness to obtain
- Membership of a professional body (e.g. ISEP) or working towards Chartered status
- Experience with Net Zero, carbon management, and sustainability reporting
- Knowledge of biodiversity net gain (BNG) and resource management

Salary: Between £38,000 - £52,000 DOE Negotiable dependant on level of experience plus package including car / allowance
