Who we are
Network Rail High Speed Ltd. (NRHS) is responsible for operating and maintaining the UK’s only international high-speed railway, High Speed (HS1).
The 109km HS1 infrastructure consists of a diverse range of railway assets such as the track, signalling, overhead line, lineside buildings, depots, viaducts and long tunnels. NRHS is also responsible for operating and maintaining three international stations; St Pancras, Stratford and Ebbsfleet International.
As a wholly owned subsidiary of Network Rail Infrastructure Ltd, NRHS is privately financed under an agreement with our client ‘London St Pancras High Speed’, undertaking a diverse range of activities from railway infrastructure maintenance and operations - through to station facilities and retail on behalf of our client.

At Network Rail High Speed, we’re looking for a forward-thinking Head of Analysis & Reporting to lead how we turn data into decisions. This is a high-impact leadership role at the heart of our business, where your financial insight will directly influence strategy, investment, and long-term planning.
As Head of Analysis & Reporting, you’ll lead the provision of financial, benchmark, and performance analysis across the route. Your work will guide strategic direction, highlight opportunities for improvement, and underpin the long-term sustainability of the business.
You’ll be responsible for developing robust financial models and plans that connect operational performance with financial outcomes—ensuring clarity, confidence, and value for money at every level of decision-making.
About the role (External)
What You’ll be Doing
You’ll take ownership of how insight drives the business forward, including:
· Provide strategic leadership for financial analysis and management reporting, delivering high‑quality insight that supports executive decision‑making, Board assurance and external stakeholder requirements.
· Own and develop the end‑to‑end financial reporting framework, ensuring consistency, transparency and a clear line of sight between operational performance, financial outcomes and long‑term strategy.
· Lead the development of medium‑to‑long‑term financial forecasts and business plans, integrating business strategy, investment plans and risk assumptions to support sustainable decision‑making and regulatory confidence.
· Act as the senior finance lead for performance insight and investment appraisal, providing robust financial challenge and assurance across the full investment lifecycle.
· Deliver clear, influential financial commentary and insight for senior leadership forums, Performance Reviews and Boards, focused on value for money, drivers of performance and delivery confidence.
· Build strong partnerships across NR High Speed to ensure analysis and reporting are aligned to business priorities and support joined‑up decision‑making.
· Lead and develop a high‑performing analysis and reporting team, setting clear standards, building capability and flexing resources to meet priority business needs.
· Drive continuous improvement in financial insight, reporting processes and data quality, strengthening governance, controls and audit assurance while improving efficiency and automation
What we’re looking for:
We’re seeking a confident and influential finance leader who can operate at a strategic level while staying close to the detail.
Essential:
· Professional qualification (or equivalent experience) in a relevant discipline
· Strong post-qualification experience in finance or business analysis
· Advanced financial modelling and investment appraisal expertise
· Proven experience working with senior stakeholders at Head of, Director, or Board level
· Advanced Excel (or equivalent) and the ability to analyse complex datasets
· Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence
· A collaborative approach and strong professional integrity
Desirable:
· Experience in a matrix organisation
· Familiarity with BI tools such as Power BI
· Experience leading Financial Planning & Analysis teams
· Additional relevant qualifications
