2Location
Site based on construction sites (predominantly) and/or patrolling the LUL network – No WFH is possible in this role.

Surveillance checks (review of safe systems of work) of high risk Third Party/External Development works adjacent to TfL assets & operations and Network Patrolling (Statutory Function under ROGS).

Experience & understanding of heavy civils/construction – ideally new building construction, piling, excavation, foundations (basement construction, secant piled walls), use of/set up of cranes, installation of scaffolding.
Ability to problem solve and manage risk of potential impact to TfL infrastructure.

Very busy team with 500+ live development projects. Projects are a mixture of major developments to small residential developments next to the railway and/or TfL infrastructure. There could also be some patrolling duties which requires walking a patrol route (or in some case train riding).
Team made up of around 60 individuals consisting of 10 Works Inspectors

CSCS card is mandatory. But apart from that experience of construction activities is key for this role.

Works Inspectors are allocated to projects on a weekly basis. For the larger projects an Inspector could be allocated full time on site for a number of weeks or months. The smaller sites could just be one shift or a number of shifts in one week before being re-allocated to a different work site.

This is an ideal role for an ex-construction or site manager looking to leave the high pressure environment of a top tier Contractor.

Shifts could be Monday to Friday day or night (to cover Engineering Hours shifts on the railway). There will also be an opportunity for overtime/weekend working and working during railway possessions. The individual would always be contacted by the Engineer/Job Manager if they were being allocated for a shift change or weekend shift.
